Our history and our commitment

The Centre for Action and Support for Immigrant Families (CASFI) was legally established on November 6, 2025. Born from a collective desire to respond to the real challenges of immigrant families — particularly those from recent immigration — CASFI is part of a concrete, inclusive and supportive community action approach.

Our mission is toto welcome, support and accompany immigrant families at every stage of their integration journey. We don't just transmit information; we build bridges. We strive to foster integration.social, cultural and economic in Canada, in a spirit of respect, dignity and reciprocity.

These three principles are the compass for each of our actions and decisions.:

  • Unit : Working together for a stronger community by creating spaces where families, volunteers and partners collaborate on common initiatives.

  • Love : To offer support imbued with kindness and humanity by taking the time to listen to each family's story, without rushing them, in a safe and respectful environment.

  • Solidarity: Cultivating mutual support among those experiencing similar realities by fostering exchanges between newly arrived and established families, in a spirit of sharing.

To achieve our mission, CASFI operates daily around five key areas:

  • Offering personalized support :
We help families better understand their new environment and toto better understand the existing resources in the community.
  • Strengthening positive parenting :
We organize discussion circles on educational challenges, respecting original cultural values while exploring the landmarks of the Canadian context.
  • Promoting the development of young people :
Through mentoring and group activities, we support teenagers in their search for guidance, expression and belonging.
  • Creating meeting spaces :
We break isolation through community activities — such as coffee meetups or shared workshops — where everyone can contribute and feel valued.
  • Promoting sustainable integration :
We encourage families to actively participate in community life, particularly by becoming volunteers, so that they feel like active participants in their own journey.

Who are we supporting?

CASFI primarily serves newly arrived immigrant families in Canada, who often face cultural differences or isolation. Our support includes:
The parents

They are looking for points of reference to stabilize their home in a new context.

Children and teenagers

They navigate between family expectations and those of the Canadian school system.

Relatives and elders

They may feel isolated due to the language barrier or being far from their usual network.

CASFI does not offer administrative, legal, medical, accommodation, or professional integration services. It provides non-therapeutic psychosocial support based on listening, referrals to existing resources, and the creation of community links.
